Training Phase

No matter how well designed the CMS tools, some training will be required for both your non-technical content contributors as well as your site administrators. Many companies overlook this part of the implementation process until after they have selected a product. We urge client's to think about the training aspect as part of the product search process.

The first step is to identify your most likely content contributors. Then evaluate their "computer IQ." For example, do they struggle using basic Microsoft Office products? Do they know HTML? With this knowledge in mind you can better evaluate each systems "easy-to-use" CMS tools.

Also, as mentioned elsewhere, if you have in-house programmers find out whether the vendor has a program to train your developers so that you can do CMS customizations in-house.
