Webworld deployed the Webworld Content Manager CMS to support 50+ Seabee web sites. This project included significant intergration work with other web applications as well as Navy systems for user authentication.
The public Internet site features a new, password-protected private section that allows the Seabees to make information, not appropriate for public consumption, rapidly and broadly available to Seabee family members. The Intranet is now a system of nearly 50 related sites all running under the same Webworld CMS software tools.
The Seabees chose the Webworld Content Manager because it met the following key requirements:
§ Ease-of-Use: Can be used by non-technical personnel to keep over 50 U.S. Navy Web sites fresh and up-to-date
§ Ability to Web-Enable: Many complex Seabee-specific reports (with custom enhancement)
§ Smooth integration with legacy systems as well as future, unspecified Web applications
§ Security: Built-in roles-based security plus ability to deploy on a secure U.S. Navy network
§ Economy: The WCM works with their existing IT infrastructure. |
